Savage Sites™ Policies – Please Read

Communications & Business Hours

Normal business hours are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays.

Occasionally, we may email you after hours or schedule calls for your convenience, but we do not accept phone calls outside of normal business hours.

For current maintenance clients, we will respond as quickly as possible to site outages or serious technical problems as soon as possible between 7 am and 10 pm Pacific Time every day. Please text or email with emergencies during these hours.

We try to reply to text and email business communications within 8 business hours. Current client responses are our top priority and take precedence over other requests.

We ask that clients respond to our requests for information within 8 business hours. If delays cause scheduling conflicts with other projects, we may have to postpone completion of your project.

Scheduling

We schedule work on a first-paid, first-scheduled basis.

 

Included Work and Features

All work and website features included in your project are described in the website description of the product(s) you select and purchase. Anything not specified in writing is not included in your purchase price.

For custom design clients, your written project scope describes in writing all deliverables included in your purchase. Anything not described as being included is excluded, but may be available as an add-on to your project at an additional cost.

 

Website Security

Security is the most important feature of your website, which is why we install and configure advanced security options immediately after installing WordPress on your host server.

We are aware that several articles about “affordable websites” include a warning to buyers that “cheap websites” can include backdoor access for unscrupulous developers to later exploit such websites, and this is for good reason–many inexpensive website solutions have been known to be affected by such tactics.

Not only will your Savage Sites website be secured within the first few hours of installation, we are happy to advise you as to how to make sure your site does not include any hidden “backdoor” access points. One of the security plugins we will install, WordFence, is an industry standard program, and the most downloaded and used WordPress security plugin. WordFence itself will scan your website and alert you to any changes made to the original plugins (software apps) that were installed with your website, and also of any changes to your theme (template).

Should you have additional concerns, please know that your website will be built completely in the U.S. on U.S. based servers, and we are happy to provide you with local references as to the quality and integrity of our work over the years upon request.

Our Guarantee

Our work is guaranteed. If you find a problem on your site caused by our mistake or failure to do something that was promised in your project description, please contact us immediately and we’ll take care of it free of charge.

Please be advised that we are unable to guarantee that third-party plugins, themes, and WordPress or other software will continue to perform as designed indefinitely.

To ensure continued top performance of your site, please either request a hosting and maintenance package from us when you purchase your site, or manually update your site software (plugins, theme, WordPress, and server software) weekly as needed. Also, please choose your hosting company and any additional features you may add very carefully.

We strongly recommend using SiteGround hosting services whether you purchase through us or on your own.

Access to Accounts

In the case of pre-exisiting hosting and domain name accounts, we may need access to these in order to provide you with service.

Before you send us any passwords or usernames, please verify that the exact credentials are working. We charge $25 for attempting to login with credentials you have given us that are not valid. That can mean an additional $50 if both your hosting and domain accounts are incorrect, so please be very sure to verify your login information before sending it to us.

Accepted Form of Payment

All payments are accepted via PayPal only. If you do not have a PayPal account, you may use a credit or debit card to pay through the PayPal interface. PayPal also has an option to apply for their credit account and pay for your website over time so that you can buy it today.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does this work?

Here’s how our process works:

  • Choose the type of website features you want (one-page starter, multi-page, or complete)
  • Then choose which layout you’d like (church, portfolio, etc.)
  • Order and pay for your website in our shop
  • Add the maintenance package if you want everything taken care of for you
  • We’ll email your order confirmation and a link for uploading your logo and hosting login
  • Upload your logo and login credentials to us if you already have hosting

Your site will normally be complete within 3 business days after we receive payment, logo, and if needed, hosting login. We’ll notify you immediately if there is a backlog and waiting list.

Can I add to my site later?

Yes! That’s one of the great things about our websites; they are designed to last for years and to grow with you.

 

Will I be able to work on my own website?

Yes! Your website comes with a built-in CMS (content management system), WordPress. We encourage you to learn everything you can about your website, and we’ll be here to support you with training, maintenance, updates–whatever you need.

 

Are there any hidden costs?

No! You can order the starter website, buy your own domain and hosting, and never pay us another penny!

If you decide to order our hosting and/or maintenance package, your costs are clearly shown in the product descriptions. And we encourage you to ask questions, so if you’re not sure about something, please let us know!

 

How will people find my website?

Search engines will know that your site exists as soon as it’s launched. At least 99 percent of our websites are indexed in Google the same day they go live. That’s because we build your site using strategies that search engines prefer, and your site will also automatically “ping” search engines to let them know about your website.

There’s more to this, though. The quality of your text, images, and any multimedia content is crucial to your success. We can help you with this.

Ideally, you will also promote your website on social media if your goal is to increase traffic. We can also help with that. And if you order the complete package with social sharing and newsletter opt-in forms, or as an add-on to the starter site, you can grow your site even faster.
